Back in the '80s. fashion was still considered a dirty word around Nike. but a young designer by the name of Tinker Hatfield showed up with an architectural background and some bold ideas. While in New York. Hatfield went to a swanky furniture store where he spotted a luxe ostrich leather sofa. Inspired by the distinct texture and patterning of the ostrich leather. Hatfield knew he had to bring that look to life in a modern sneaker. He sketched up some ideas. and the Air Safari was born. Welcome back to the origins of a true icon.
